Bass Fly Fishing I left Los Angeles to go fly fishing at “the Canals” My flies: chartreuse/white and orange/white clousers (I found these two colors work the best), reddish crayfish, foam spiders (normally used for panfish, but the smallies attack it like crazy, EXPLOSION CITY! ), and a black pencil popper (no name for this fly I just tied what I think might work) I made. I lost count after 40 bass. All and all it was an awesome day of fishing. My next video will be of the Colorado River. All my fish were released unharmed. So GET LOST PETA!!! I had to remake this because my girlfriend thinks my videos are the most boring thing on earth. WOMEN }:| by Jerry Phan

Good afternoon spacefrog5,
Awsome video! ,Got my blood going! My son and I spend a lot of time fishing the canals so I can relate to the fun and the area. There’s nothing like catching a solid bass on a fly, great job on the fishing and the video. One question , what time of the year did you shoot this?
Cheers,
Wisterboyz

hey, glass and 38 is a really great place, especially in the winter for trout. i normally go to lake nearby and usually get about 40-70 largemouth bass a day. use white foam spiders, black leeches, blue dragon flies, work the best with the spiders as the top fly ever there. send me a message and maybe i’ll c u guys there sometime.

hi jusurfn, i really don’t recommend anyone going there this time. the area is 115 in the mornings 120 and up at noon and 110 degrees at midnight. i was there with a friend and he had heat stroke. so wait a little longer until it cools. i’m worried about ur kids and heat there, but send me an message and i’ll get you directions.

space frog im going to jenks tomorrow sat-9-08 with my wife and my boy. he really wants to catch a bass.
August 8th, 2008 at 8:16 pm
oh cool, bass are really hard to catch unless you have the right stuff. if you’re fly fishing, its the best way. tie some white foam spiders, i tried all colors and white works best for top water, black leech flies, are awesome for wet flies. stay away from bait, it doesnt work there. people w/bait sit for 8 hrs and catch 2 fish, i fish for 1 hrs and land 20. shoot me a message next time. would love to go.
