Looks like a great looking fly! I’m going to Kona, HI in a month… would that fly be durable enough for bonefish, trevally, & other big trophy fishes? Great video!

In regualr fishing you’re casting a heavy lure attached to an almost weightless line. But in fly fishing you aren’t really casting the fly. You’re casting a heavy line attached to a nearly weightless lure (the weight of the lure is more or less incidental).

Hi! I don’t do fly fishing. ButI use fly lures to catch bass. How do people who do fly fish cast their flys without any weight?

“Strain” isn’t the right word. Tension, yes. Never let the fish have slack if you can help it. Goes for any tackle, not just the flyrod.

I’m new to fly fishing, and I have a question.. when I hook a fish, should i keep a strain on the line of the rod the whole time, and reel at the same time?

The key is not to use too much. And don’t try to over work it. It will smooth it self out as it dries. Enjoy!
