My NEW Fly Tying Materials Highly Reflective Materials consisting of multible layers. These materials actually have origins originating with the areospace industry to protect our astronuts from in space!
What is sold as easter grass is usually something as simple as colored cellophane and if one puts heat to that or the materials that Hareline Dubbin, Wapsi Fly, Doug’s Bugs, Cascade Crest and others sell, ALL will NOT turn iridescent AND WILL simply turn to a whitish brown lump of plastic.

Read the Book “What fish See” published by Frank Amato press and one will learn that color drastically reduces to black as water depth increases, along with tannic acid, turbidity, plankton, etc. Glacial silt actually allows light through.
Reflecting materials such as chrome spinner blades and bodies have been used by lure manufacturers for several decades to get the attention of MORE fish, used by millions of fishers!!
So why fly tiers and fishers are afraid shiney flies will spook fish??
