Hey there Jay. I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m a complete novice to the fly, just started April, so I’m proud to announce that I’ve just broken my personal best with a 13 inch brown fatty. (The river/stream we fish here doesn’t produce exceedingly large trout.) WOO-HOO!!!!

  3. humblefisherman Says:

Good Job dunrobins, an elusive 13 inch brown can be a hard target to catch. Congrats on your P.B.

trying to fly fish on a tiny stream like this one with all that brush around would be infuriating

  14. humblefisherman Says:

tell me about it. Frickin nightmare, but the fish make it worth while.

  15. acm4bass Says:

the riparian laws I’m familar with allow access to the water, but not the land.

i love bows. their my favorite trout. unless i catch a bright brook trout with nice colors. then brook trout are my favorite.

  18. erkod Says:

dang with all that brush, im sure those rainbows sit there and feed on terrestrials all day.

  19. FishTheMargins Says:

Jeez! It certainly looks like you had to work for those fish. But that makes it all worth while in the end. Top notch as always!

This is like a few dreams I had where I always get woke up! I haven’t done real well fishing since moving to Alberta from B.C. 19 years ago. It seems to always be so far to get nothing.

  22. impatient333 Says:

  23. impatient333 Says:

I wish I knew where that was, nothing better than big fish in small creeks

  24. libbertines Says:
