Hey there Jay. I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m a complete novice to the fly, just started April, so I’m proud to announce that I’ve just broken my personal best with a 13 inch brown fatty. (The river/stream we fish here doesn’t produce exceedingly large trout.) WOO-HOO!!!!

Good Job dunrobins, an elusive 13 inch brown can be a hard target to catch. Congrats on your P.B.

trying to fly fish on a tiny stream like this one with all that brush around would be infuriating
May 31st, 2009 at 5:18 pm

August 1st, 2009 at 5:41 pm
Jeez! It certainly looks like you had to work for those fish. But that makes it all worth while in the end. Top notch as always!

This is like a few dreams I had where I always get woke up! I haven’t done real well fishing since moving to Alberta from B.C. 19 years ago. It seems to always be so far to get nothing.

you’ve never caught a brown troout have you, or a sea trout? Rainbows are the easiest to catch.
