Capt. Scott Sparrow and wife Kathy hike across the high dunes of Padre Island to gain access to the Lower Laguna Madre, as he once did as a kid. No boat, and no shoes, just barefooted on the hard sand. Kathy catches a 26″ trout that was cruising with four others, but the clear water and the blue sky were reward enough.

NICE! I grew up down there. Y’all did an awesome job of wading out. It’s a hike for sure! Even more so if ya try to hit the grass line.

that “trout” was some kind of walleye, zander. Perch type fish( pikeperch), lucioperca(spain).
