curious tactics; with such a fish, I find it best ot get all these people out of the water and play it to a place where you can get it to fall on its side. I like the attitude of the guide, who seems to care for the fish, although returning the fish was not shown…
Also, these heavily coloured, kyped males point to late season fishing, possibly already near the redds, which is generaly considered not to be best practise, but then, that is Russia..

Location is near Mermanski and the fly fishing is for Atlantic Salmon.
This fish is showing some color as its been in the river for a while. Its colors actually look a bit like a large brown trout.
