But seriously folks, this is a hot book. I don’t fish myself, but I have a mentally disabled cousin who needed a hobby. He can’t move very much either so fishing sprung to mind as a good thing for him to do. Then I saw this aptly titled fishing book and it all made sense. Hardly anyone is a bigger idiot than my cousin–technically speaking–because of his brain disability. But wouldn’t you know it, he picked up on this book right away and is on his way to becoming a fine fly fisherman. Though I keep having to tell him won’t catch any flying fish

the diagrams are terrible. i challange ANYBODY who has never tied a fishing knot before to decipher a single one of the diagrams in this book. the pictures in the section on casting are even worse. UGH! i can’t believe i listened to all of these five-star reviews. if you are a visual learner like i am, than please, listen to me when i tell you to AVOID THIS BOOK!

If you can get by the title, this is a really good book. Follow the instructions and you will catch fish. I refer back to the book all the time.

The book is very good and the illustrations very helpful.
I requested a two-day delivery on this item in order to have it on time for a camping trip to the Tetons. Four days later it still had not arrived; it DID arrive while we were on our trip.

I have never done any fly fishing & was looking for a book with help on equipment to buy & how to learn to cast & what to do. This book is well written & covers everything from start to finish.
