ugly stiks do break because i had bought 2 and went fishing a MONTH later and broke both of them on 2 FIVE lbs largemouth…. and i wasnt even horsing the fish!! i dont buy ugly stiks anymore, all i buy is carrot stiks!

ugly stiks are heavier than most rods. Tournament anglers fish all day. Lighter is better.
Ugly stiks are usually softer with a real good backbone, a great trait for crank bait fishing. Some pros still use it for this purpose because it suits it very well.
Ugly stiks are not as sensitive (to me) compared to higher end graphite rods.
Ugly sticks are the best rods for the beginning and average fisherman. Models available for every fish from a 2″ bluegill to a world record Tuna.
